Easy cricket win

By DAVID LEGGAT NZPA correspondent NZPA Hyderabad New Zealand cruised to a six-wicket win early today in its opening match leading up to the World Cup cricket tournament in India. Set 205 to win by Hyberabad Blues, the New Zealand batsman, Dipak Patel, hit the winning runs off the first ball of the final over bowled by Sadiq Mohammed. At times the New Zealand target reached five runs an over but a bright knock by Patel, and a steady display by Andrew Jones got the New Zealanders home with more ease than the final margin would indicate. Jones finished with 47 and Patel 33 oft just 36 balls. They shared an unbroken stand of 52 in 33 minutes. Top scorer was the captain, Jeff Crowe, with an impressive 58 off 96 balls, including six boundaries. New Zealand’s second match will be against a Karnataka selection on the same ground late on Tuesday. HYDERABAD BLUES Sadiq Mohammed c Brace- _ well b Morrison .... 5 V. Mohan Raj b Morrison. 4
