Not too many players in the Canterbury A rugby team have reason to recall the 1987 season with any deep affection, but one who has cause to remember it better than most is the big lock from Southbridge, Albert Anderson. At the Canterbury Rugby Supporters’ Club’s eighteenth annual dinner at the Old Orchard last evening, Anderson was named recipient of the Canterbury Player of the Yea Award.

Anderson, aged 26, has had his share of honours this season.
