Motukarara workouts
CO and faster trials were run over 2400 m on the grass track at Motukarara workouts yesterday. Nat Marie won the first heat from Carlton Supreme and Sterlo (never clear) while Bogart Ron, which never saw daylight, finished sixth in what was the respectable time of 3.30, the last 800 m in 1.2.3 and the 400 m in 28. Princess JUalne came off the trail to beat the leader Maida Chance by a short head from Armanat which was three back on the rails. Hickory Wood was the best of the others. They ran the journey in 341.5, the last 800 m in 1.004. World of Fame won the C 3 and faster pace from Freightman and Le Marais which charged on the scene late. The time was 3.20.9. the last 800 m in 1.2 and the 400 m in 28.1* Great Ovation won the Cl and faster trot from last season’s top three year old
Bellam, which wasn't pushed, with Tussle from 50m running on well for third. The winner went 347.8 the last 800 m in 1.3.2. Imperial Kiora put in a courageous run after sitting parked for most of the way and going to the front with 800 m to run. He won well for trainer driver Derek Jones by five lengths from stablemate Lone Eagle and Supreme Monarch doing best of the others. The winner went 3.25.8 the last 800 m In 1.1.3 and the last 400 m in 29. Alias Charm won the CO trotter's heat from Curling and Princess PhilUppa in 3494, the last 800 m In 1.4.7 and the 400 m in 29.9. Baron James proved too strong in the last of the day, winning under a hold from Bobby which was doing his best, and the fast finishing Silverstream. Baron James recorded 3.30.5, the last 800 m in 13.
