Agricorp plans name change
PA Hamilton Agricorp Investments, Ltd, is proposing a name change to Tranzequity Holdings, Ltd, after the take-over of the company by Hamilton businessmen, Mr Terry Lowndes and Mr Graham Macdonald. The listed agricultural and horticultural company is expanding into property and equity investment and shifting its headquarters from Auckland to Hamilton. Mr Lowndes said the new name would better reflect the company’s move to seek equity investments in Australia
and New Zealand. The Agricorp name would be retained by a subsidiary company within the group.
A meeting of shareholders would be held in Hamilton on October 7 to consider the proposed changes. "• Mr Lowndes and Mr Macdonald secured control of Agricorp after a series of share-buying forays earlier this year. Since then their company, Coronet Property Group, Ltd, has been managing Agricorp. The pair.. controls about 75 per cent of Agricorp’s shares.
