Five hurt in car crash
Three persons are in hospital, one in a serious condition, after a car left the road 4km north of the Greta Valley settlement at 1 a.m. on Sunday. Andrew Kearns was admitted to Christchurch Hospital but was transferred to The Princess Margaret Hospital, where his condition yesterday was described as serious.
Stephen Peter Cone and Peter Cone are also in The Princess Margaret Hospital. Their condition is said to be “not so comfortable.”
Two other men were taken to Christchurch Hospital but are believed to have been treated and discharged. The five were in a coupe which left the road on a slight bend, knocked down a telegraph pole, went through a ditch and a fence before rolling over.
