Calf born to famous Friesan

Angie, the gentle Friesian cow known to hundreds of New Zealand families for her public milking performances at Woolly Meadows Farmyard, Rangiora, has given birth to a heifer calf.

For seven-year-old Angie this is her fifth calf, but so far the Here-ford-Friesian baby has no name.

The owner of Woolly Meadows, Mr John Van Beek, thought it would be nice if the visiting chil-. dren who made friends with Angie named the calf, which was born on Sunday morning. Mrs Linda Van Beek said that any names sent to Woolly Meadows, Farmyard, Cones Road, Rangiora R.D. 2, would be considered.
