Legal merger
Two North Island legal firms will merge from October 1. Buddle Findlay, a 27partner firm with offices in Wellington and Auckland, and the seven-partner, Aucklandbased Malloy, Moody and Greville, will practise under the name Buddle Findlay (Incorporating Malloy, Moody and Greville).
Trust buy
The NZI Prime Property Trust has announced its second purchase — a 50 per cent interest in the National Bank Centre in Auckland. It has agreed to pay a $2O million deposit and the balance of $65 million on completion in 1989. The National Bank Centre is a twin tower development of 25,000 sq m on the comer of Queen and Victoria Streets in Auckland.
Regret
Mr David Gray, the national managing partner of the accounting firm Law-_ rence Anderson Buddle, said that the firm regrets the unilateral decision of its Auckland partners to withdraw from the practice. “We are in discussion with our international firm, Arthur Andersen and Co, and are exploring alternatives for the re-establishment of an Auckland office to service our clients,” he said.
NatMut tower
National Mutual has bought a central Wellington office tower to add to its growing property portfolio in the city, according to National Mutual general manager, Mr Steve Somogyi.
