Remuneration for a person qualifying as a specialist will be in the range of $NZ57,860/$ZN73,040. For a person with suitable experience but not qualifying as a specialist within the range $NZ39,930/ $NZ68,860, the starting level in each case depending on qualifications and experience. Ashburton Hospital Is a 140 bed acute general hospital serving a population of 25,000. Tuarangl Home of 90 beds also administered by the Board is located near the Borough boundary. The hospital is fully equipped with the range of acute medical and surgical services backed up by well equipped supporting departments. Attendance at post-graduate sessions In Christchurch (80km) is encouraged and the area offers a wide range of opportunities for recreation including skiing, sailing, tramping, trout and salmon fishing, swimming, rafting, boating, as well as the usual sporting and cultural pursuits.
