Reception had his trainer, Trevor Whittington, aboard when he worked with stablemate, Litt (Rawlings), over 800 m in 52.35, the last 600 m in 38.95.
Reception runs in the Epsom Handicap tomorrow as a lead-up to the Hawke’s Bay Guineas next Wednesday. He looks well and Lance O’Sullivan has the ride tomorrow.
Thrive (McGifford), another entered for the Epsom Handicap, ended two rounds of pacework by sprinting 600 m in 38s. She has drawn the outside on Saturday and will be ridden by Maurice Campbell. Mark Four (Meenehan) rounded off his preparation for the Hollycombe Hurdles with two rounds of pacework, speeding up over the last 600 m on cauu ruuna co clock 38.9 s and 39.25. Richard Burton rides him tomorrow.
Crystalco (Heslin), another hurdle entry, schooled over nine bat-
tens before running 600 m 4 in 38.45. Count Godhram (Phil- 1 lips), a form runner in the Club Maiden, was not doing much more than three-quarter pace from the 600 m peg, recording 43.2 s with the last 400 m in 26.65.
Amic Lady had her race day rider, John Hall, aboard when sprinting ~6oom in 38.45. She was placed at the recent Poverty Bay meeting and has drawn ‘ well in the Club Maiden.
Count Reason (Lange) was sent 1400 m on his own and recorded 1:36.25, the last 600 m in 39.95. No rider had been confirmed for him yet in the hurdles tomorrow.
