Minister holds seat
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Marshall, has retained his Wanganui seat with a 248vote majority after last evening’s release of the final count.
On election night, the Labour member of Parliament held the seat with a hairline majority of
27, ahead of the Democratic Party’s candidate, Mr Terry Heffernan.
But the final count including special votes, after the 10-day delay required by law, has secured the seat for Labour for another term.
