Arthur’s Pass National Park is still without a < chief ranger. < The park has f been 1 without one since last < December when the chief range resigned because of the lack of staff among other things. Another ranger was appointed to the job, but decided to take a position at the Nelson Lakes National Park instead. “The public is not getting a proper service at
Arthur’s Pass,” said the chairman of the North Canterbury Parks and Reserves Board, Mr lan Calvert. The opening hours of the headquarters building and the summer holiday programmes were being restricted, he said. "The board will continue to battle the authorities and the Government until we get the four rangers Arthur’s Pass is due,” he said.
