The Minister of Energy, Mr Tizard (centre), inspects the control room at the Greymouth depot of the West Coast Electric Power Board. Mr Tizard was shown the control of the power loads of the board’s hydro-electric stations, by the depot superintendent, Mr Roly Keehan (left) watched by Mr Kerry Burke, the member of Parliament for West Coast Mr Tizard spoke to
board staff and later met members of the West Coast Gold Miners’ Association, who are objecting to increases in prospecting and mining fees. He also inspected computer room facilities at Greymouth High School.
