BIL lifts stakes in CPD and NZ News

PA Wellington Brierley Investments, Ltd, last evening announced it had Increased its shareholdings in Cable Price Downer, Ltd, and NZ News, Ltd, by on-market share purchases. BIL said it had taken its NZ News stake to 60.9 per cent by buying 401,000 ordinary shares at $5 each.

And its CPD stake rose to 38.34 per cent of voting capital after it bought 6,021,137 ordinary shares at prices between $3 and $3.10, and 370,288 specified preference shares at prices between $4.50 and $4.60. The CPD purchase cost BIL $20,304,935, while the company’s NZ News acquisition cost $2,005,000.
