Robbers’ clothing found?
Clothing found discarded on several Linwood properties is believed to have been worn by the two armed robbers who held up the Alamein Sauna and Spa Lounge last week. The items, pictured with Detective Constable Mike Hennessy, were found in the front gardens of homes in Pauline and Pamela streets on Wednesday and Thursday last week. Senior-Sergeant Rob Pope
said the police had no suspects for the robbery, in which a shot was fired at the wheel of a police car while the offenders were making their escape. “We are interested in hearing from anyone who may have knowledge of the clothing,” he said. The police have a pair of brown and white vinyl gloves, a blue and green-striped knitted balaclava, a black
knitted hat, a mask with eye holes thought to have been made from a sleeve of a rugby jersey, or something similar, a green Swanndri jacket with a hood, and a navy-coloured sailor’s jersey with patches on the elbows and shoulders. Senior-Sergeant Pope said the SwanndriJacket had a cut across one of its sleeves which had been stitched with a lighter green cotton.
