Angus bulls fetch $4000 average

Forty-nine stud and commercial bulls sold fbr more than $4OOO average price at the twenty-first annual Te Mania Angus Stud sale in North Canterbury yesterday. Buyers came from the North Island and South Island and Australia to bid for the Te Mania bulls which were in excellent condition. The sale grossed $199,000 and the average price for Te Mania was $4061. The Anstey Stud of Parnassus also sold six bulls for an average of $2157. The top price for Te

Mania was $16,500 paid by Kestrop Brothers and D. Lowe of Masterton and $16,000 was paid by Rakaiatai Station, Dargaville, while $15,0000 was paid by P. Newman of Otorohonga. Among the commercial bulls was a sale to Muller Station of Blenheim for $7OOO and H. R. Hammond of Ciilverden bought two bulls at $5lOO each. The Te Mania sale attracted a big gallery and the prices paid reflected the recent strong interest in Angus bulls at the national show and sale.
