One of the most regular users of the new Opzeeland truck unit will be Printpac Case, South Island, Northern Region. “Opzeeland recognises • it is their duty to carry Printpac product in the best possible condition and with the greatest possible volume per load,” said Mr John E. van. Opzeeland, Manager of the company. “As the corrugated board supplier for the South Island, effective distribution is critical to our
operation," said Mr Bob Anderson, Manager, Printpac Case south Island, Northern Region. Printpac Case at Hornby produce corrugated board for all the South Island case manufacturers to manufacture corrugated cases. This process involves supply to Christchurch, Dunedin and Invercargill manufacturers and to ensure service levels are achieved it is critical that Printpacs’ Carrier works in close with them.
“Not only do large volumes of corrugated board require transporting within tight schedules but the board must be protected from damage which could cause production problems for our customers and must also be kept clean, as a large percentage of this material is used for food packaging of some kind,” Mr Anderson said. “Our Carrier must be an extension of our own operation and standards, meeting the needs of our customers — we see Opzeeland as fulfilling that role very well.
“The introduction of this extraordinary unit is going to assist us both to do things even better” said Mr Anderson.
Currently Opzeeland are the sole cartage company to regularly serve the corrugated cardboard division Mr Opzeeland believes.
