Farmers criticise Minister

PA Wellington Federated Farmers yesterday passed a vote of no-confidence in the Minister of Finance, Mr Douglas. The vote followed debate on a remit from Southland at the federation’s annual conference in Wellington. Fanners have been hurt financially by Rogernomics and the Government’s failure to lower inflation has been targeted by farmers as a main issue. Mr Douglas dismissed the move as a "political stunt.” Under almost nine years of the National Party, farm costs had risen 268 per cent.
