Paterson in select field

Canterbury’s No. 1 golfer, Brent Paterson, will join his fellow internationals, Michael Barltrop and Philip Aickin (both Auckland) and Owen Kendall (Bay of Plenty), in the Paraparaumu Beach open tournament on August 1. As well as the national senior four, the New Zealand under 26 team, which' includes another Canterbury golfer, John

Crawford-Smith, will also play in the 36hole tournament. It will be a valuable practice for the New Zealand players for their Australian visit in September. Also in the selection field of 90 is the former Wellington No. 1, Paul Devenport, who is at present on a golfing scholarship at the Houston University in the United States. •
