Obituary Mr Ewen Wainscott
PA Auckland Mr Ewen Wainscott, a former City Architect in Auckland, has died in London. He was 67. Mr Wainscott became ill while on holiday in England and died in Middlesex Hospital after heart surgery. He was responsible for many building and city space designs in Auck-
land. The facelift he designed for the Parnell swimming baths in the early 1950 s earned him the Institute of Architects gold medal for "Building of the Year” in 1957. Mr Wainscott, who was awarded the M.B.E. this year, is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter.
