PA Auckland Dale Lightfoot, who represented New Zealand in the Los Angeles Olympics, won the men’s recurve event at the national indoor archery championships at the week-end. Lightfoot (Mountain Green) had a margin of nine points. In the womem’s event, Ann Shurrock (Ashburton) and Neroli Fairhall (Christchurch) continued their rivalry, the former winning by three points, Norma Speight (Greenwood) was third. Alan Fulton (Green Park) won his fifth successive title in the men’s compound. Tony Kemp (Hamilton) won the crossbow from Lawrence Moodie (Shore), but the latter set a national record of 36 inner 10s.
