Slide storage
A new slide storage system will be appearing in camera shops later in the year. It consists of specially designed polycarbonate sheets which hold 20 slides. Mr Bruce Danniels of Christchurch, who designed the system, says that the polycarbonate material was chosen for
its durability and because it has no adverse effect on film emulsions. He says that the design is such that there is no suction, preventing any possibility of newton rings. Another advantage of the polycarbonate
material is its easy viewing when placed on a light box or held up to a light source. The slides are firmly held in place by a nibsystem which has been patented. The slides are also easy to remove from the holder when necessary.
Mr Daniels says the storage system is designed to work in with a filing cabinet or an ordinary ring binder. Special covers for the holding sheets are being designed to provide additional protection for the slides.
