Mid-air collection for transplant

NZPA-Reuter London An Israeli girl, aged four, headed home fit and healthy after a lifesaving liver transplant paid for by fellowpassengers aboard an El Al flight to London three months ago. A staggering total of £45,000 sterling ($122,640) was raised in a mid-air collection by the 450 jumbo jet passengers when they learned that Moran Kadosh, from Beersheba, needed urgent treatment and was in danger of dying within days. The money went to-

wards the cost of the emergency operation at Cambridge’s renowned Addenbrooke’s Hospital, where Moran was given a new liver. “She’s fully recovered. I am delighted at the way everything has turned out,” her mother, Tovah said. Also with Moran and her mother were her father, Zion, and her brother Liath, aged 16 months. The family said that they would be eternally grateful for the generosity of the passengers who raised the money.
