Railcar strikes van
A man, aged 65, died from injuries after his van was struck by the- West Coast railcar at a crossing at Rolleston yesterday afternoon. The accident occurred at the crossing on Jones Road and Railway Road
at 1.45 p.m. The train, which was travelling from Greymouth to Christchurch, was delayed for an hour. The locomotive, which was slightly damaged, was changed for another before the train continued its journey.
