University introduction

Adults of all ages who are interested in attending university can take a “New Start” course in September to give them an idea of university life. The course is designed to help people get to know other older students, and to develop some of the skills needed for university study. Mr Robert Tobias, of the continuing education department, which runs the course, said “New Start” had been very

popular in past years, attracting about 50.t0 100 people.

The age range is normally from early 20s to over 60s. Some people had no formal qualifications while others had done university papers.
