Arahi notice
Arahi Properties, Ltd, has issued a "don’t sell” notice for its ordinary shares and options at the request of the chairman, Mr P. G. Alexander. This action followed the adjournment of an extraordinary meeting on Tuesday. The meeting was called to vote on the dismissal of two directors, but the vote did not take place after the two men sought a court injunction. Base rate cut Westpac Banking Corp is to drop its indicator lending rate to 20.5 per cent from 22 per cent effective from July 20. Housing interest rates would not be affected at this stage, but were under review, the bank said. Westpac is the first trading bank to drop its base lending rate this month. The BNZ’s and the ANZ's base rate is 22 per cent. The National Bank is 21.5 per cent.
