Radio stations ban commercial
Some New Zealand radio stations have decided their listeners’ ears are too tender for a Fred Dagg commercial advertising “People” magazine. The 30-second commercial, created by the Ball Partnership company in Sydney, advertised the June 29 edition of the magazine, which carried a lot of New Zealand content including an item about a New Zealand
former embalmer who ; makes purses out of sheep’s scrotums. Three stations have so far either censored or banned the commercial after deciding it was not suitable for the listeners. The programme director of 3ZB, Mr Tony Nielsen, said the station carried the full commercial last week and received no complaints.
