Robbery in street
A man, aged 69, was knocked to the ground and robbed of a bottle of liquor in Cashel Street on Saturday evening. The police said he was walking near the junction with Rolleston Avenue about 8.50 p.m. when he was struck by a hand on the back of the neck.
The victim’s spectacles
were damaged in the attack and he was taken to hospital for treatment for a bleeding nose. Two men are sought by the police. One is about 167 cm (sft 6in) tall and of solid build while the other is about 183 cm (6ft) tall, of slim build. Both are described as and dark-skinned.
