Overseas offers for Mr Wyllie

By 808 SCHUMACHER

Alex Wyllie has no immediate intentions of accepting overseas coaching offers . although he. does not dismiss the possibility of. examining such requests at a later date. > -

Mr Wyllie, the man behind ■ Canterbury’s three-year , Ranfurly Shield reign and now in his first year as an All Black selector, said yesterday that he had been asked to coach in Argentina/ 7 and had also been approached by a club in Britain. : Mr Wyllie said that before he would consider any proposals, he would have to v investigate the New Zealand Rugby Union’s policy on such matters. / .

“That’s something that has to be looked at first.” The' Argentinian approach had to be declined anyhow because it conflicted with New Zealand’s . domestic season; Mr Wyllie has a number of upcoming national as-

signments , involving the selection of the All Black team for the. Bledisloe Cup, an internal tour with the New Zealand Colts and a trip to Japan as coach, along with another of the All Black panel,; John Hart; , of 7 a New , Zealand team to play there .in . October and November. '7

Messrs Wyllie and Hart; will act in . dual coaching roles, Mr Hart being in charge on the tour to Japan and Mr Wyllie having command of the New Zealaind Cbits. After his outstanding coaching stint .with. Canterbury, Mr Wyllie is obviously .thirsting for the coaching chances that the tour to Japan and-the Colts internal tour will provide.' ' V ‘ He enjoyed being party to the success of the All Blacks in the inaugural World Cup, but he said that his involvement was “totally different” than when dictating Canterbury’s tactics. “It has been a bit frustrating,” he said.
