Soviet rugby revelry
NZPA-AFP Moscow A team of Soviet first division rugby players hit the headlines for two straight days this week ... but not for their prowess on the rugby field. Police were called to a Moscow airport where the Tbilisi-Lokomotiv rugby team landed after a flight from south-eastern Krasnoyarsk during which they had flicked elastic bands at the air hostess, pinched her bottom,
refused to wear seat belts and generally misbehaved. The previous evening, after losing last weekend’s match against the local team, the Georgian team had kept hotel guests awake with their revelry. Sovietsky Sport said in articles. Asked by the hotel management to calm down, the players had shown “extreme rudeness ... if they even bothered to reply," the paper said.
