Cyclists target in campaign
Cyclists .who ride their machines on footpaths or who ride on the streets at night without fitted lights will be the target of a Christchurch Ministry of Transport campaign beginning tomorrow. The cycle lighting and behaviour campaign will be launched in response to , a similar , campaign
which proved successful last month. The acting chief traffic officer for the Ministry in Christchurch, Mr Mark Mclntosh, said a high rate of offending had been discovered. There were 111 notices issued for cyclists who did not have lights and 288 warnings for various cycling offences.
