Further taxation values
The values for cattle breeds under the new livestock taxation scheme have been released by the Inland Revenue Department. Values for other livestock types were announced by the acting Minister of Finance, Mr Richard Prebble, last month. Beef breeds and beef crosses Rising one-year heifers: Standard value per head $136.50, average market value $195.00. Rising two-year and older heifers (maiden/ first calving): $191.10, $273.00. Mixed-age cows (second and subsequent calving): $177.10, $253.00. Rising one-year steers and bulls: $184.80, $264.00. Breeding bulls; $477.40, $682.00.
Friesian and related breeds Rising one-year heifers: $119.00, $170.00. Rising two-year and older heifers (maiden/ first calving): $238.70, $341.00. Mixed-age cows (second and subsequent calving): $236.60, $338.00. Rising one-year steers and bulls: $107.10, $153.00. Breeding bulls: $329.70, $471.00.
Jersey and other dairy breeds Rising one-year heifers: $105.70, $151.00. Rising two-year and older heifers (maiden/ first calving): $184.10, $263.00. Mixed-aged cows (second and subsequent calving): $170,80, $244.00. Rising one-year steers and bulls: $95.20, $136.00. Breeding bulls: $267.40, $382.00.
