Manslaughter verdict in Doghouse stabbing

Not guilty of murder but guilty of manslaughter was the finding of a jury in the High Court last evening on a charge arising from a fatal stabbing outside The Doghouse in Cathedral Square in the early hours of Sunday, November .9- last year. Ritchie Stuart Clutterbuck, aged 24, a sickness beneficiary,

had pleaded not guilty to a charge of the murder of Paul

Tuia, aged 23. The jury also found Clutterbuck guilty of wounding David Tuia with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. Mr Justice Williamson remanded Clutterbuck in custody to June 25 for sentence on both charges. The jury took more than 2*4 hours to reach its verdicts.
