Govt House investiture
PA Wellington A Wellington businessman, Sir Francis Renouf, was invested a Knight Bachelor at Government House in Wellington on Wednesday. Sir Francis was given the title in recognition of his philanthropic services over the years and for his contribution to lawn tennis.
The Governor-General, Sir Paul Reeves, said he hoped the occasion made
up for the poor weather in Wellington on Wednesday.
Also included in the honours ceremony were Mr Adam Begg, the chairman of the Meat Board, who received the C.M.G. The artist, Evelyn Page, received the 0.8. E. (civil), and the writer and poet, Louis Johnson, the 0.8. E. (civil) also. Chief Inspector Jean Dougall > received the M.B.E. (civil).
