World Cup on radio

Radio New Zealand will provide extensive coverage of the rugby World Cup which kicks off tomorrow at Eden Park with the game between New Zealand and Italy. All 32 games being played in Australia and New Zealand will be broadcast on R.N.Z.’s stations except the matches between the United States, Japan and Australia. Mid-week and Sunday matches played in New Zealand and Australia plus matches from Australia starting at 5 p.m.

on Saturdays will be broadcast throughout the Community network of R.N.Z., while Saturdayafternoon matches in New Zealand and the New Zealand versus Argentina clash on Queen’s Birthday will be broadcast on the YC-AM stations. The World Cup final on Saturday, June 20 will be part of a three-hour radio programme direct from Eden Park on the YC-AM stations. All matches played in New Zealand will be broadcast on R.N.Z?s shortwave service.
