Budget release inquiry
PA Wellington A Parliamentary select committee held an inquiry into last July’s early release of Budget information, in an attempt to prevent its happening again. Last August, up to
10,000 copies of the Budget were circulating in New Zealand before the Minister of Finance, Mr Douglas, rose to read it in Parliament. Some copies were delivered early to people who were not entitled to them.
