Papers publish
NZPA Suva Fiji’s two English language daily newspapers, the .“Fiji Times” and the “Fiji Sun,” were last evening preparing to publish for the first time since the military regime closed their offices last Friday. The “Fiji Sun’s” deputy publisher, Mr Jim Carney, said his newspaper was “sticking to the right to publish what we want, but I think it will be tempered
with understanding and common sense.” “My editorial line will be the need for reconciliation between the factions,” Mr Carney said. A spokesman for the “Fiji Times” said that it would publish as long as it could do so without censorship.
