A.I.D.S. tests ordered after rape by doctor
NZPA-AFP Zweibruecken
Authorities in the southwest German town of Zweibrueken have ordered more than 100 women to have A.I.D.S. tests, after a doctor admitted he had raped them while they were under anaesthetic, the press reported. According to the reports, one of the women whom Dr Manfred Beck admitted raping had seen him for an A.I.D.S. test, leading to fears he might have been infected.
The doctor, aged 44,
was denounced in April by one of his patients, who had regained consciousness earlier than expected. He also admitted to being bisexual and a former drug addict. Tests on Dr Beck had proved negative but medical authorities say the results are not conclusive and the risk of infection cannot be discounted. After this warning the Regional Health and Justice Minister has ordered all former clients of the doctor to undergo A.I.D.S. tests.
