Redwings streak ends
The Redwings broke out of a four-game losing streak last Saturday evening when they beat the Tune-ups. 7-3. in Canterbury senior ice hockey at the Big Apple rink. It was a convincing win byRedwings, with team play emphasised throughout. The Tune-ups side, playing without three of its regular starters, has now dropped two games in a row, having been beaten. 6-2, by the league leader. Bruins, the previous Tuesday.
All Canterbury ice hockeyteams are gearing up for the New Zealand Ice HockeyFederation’s national club
championships at the Big Apple rink from June 19 to 21. Twelve teams from Auckland to Gore will compete. Scorers for the last two games were: Bruins 6: J. Dowman 4, A. Declerc 2. Tune-ups 2: G. Bouwman, Q. Packard. Redwings 7: S. Bowden 2, D. Williamson 2, A. Berke, S. Johnson. P. Scott. Tune-ups 3: J. Scott 2. W. Chamberlain.
