Mayor sued for fees
PA Auckland The Mayor of Walternata, Mr Tim Shadbol(, is being sued for non-pay-ment of legal fees resulting from a $30,000 dam-, ages claim filed against him by the council in 1983. Mr Shadbolt said he had been served a summons from the District Court at Henderson for defaulting on the payment
The amount in question was about $6OOO, Mr Shadbolt said. The writ for .damages was filed against Mr Shad- ' bolt via late September, 1983, by the Waltemata City Council and . concerned statements about the council’s involvement with the maintenance of Scenic Drive in the Waitakere Ranges. - The council withdrew the claim last November.
