Bowls veteran dies
Mr Dan O’Neill, a member of the Canterbury Bowling Club for 28 years, has died in Auckland. He was in his late sixties. Mr O’Neill was both a player and club administrator. He joined the club in 1959, and was its president in 1966 and 1971. He was the secretary from 1974 until his death and had been a life member since 1984.
Mr O’Neill was club delegate for several years and a selector of two Commercial Travellers’ Club teams which won national titles. Mr O’Neill won most of the Canterbury Bowling Club’s titles. He worked in the fashion trade and was a Justice of the Peace. Mr O'Neill is survived by his wife, a son and a daughter. ..
