Boys crash car near Kaikoura
Two boys, aged 12 and 14, took a car from Christchurch yesterday and crashed it near Kaikoura. The car, a late-model Ford Escort Ghia, was taken from Bryndwr at 6.45 a.m. SA Christchurch police spokesman said the pair were placed in Social Welfare Department care. One was arrested oh a charge df unlawfully taking the car and would appear in the ; Children and , Young Persons Court. Senior Constable Gerry Hailes; of Kaikoura, said the car suffered extensive damage when it slid into a lamp-post in .Mill Road, just north of tog. township. Her found the two boys, who were returned to Christchurch.
