NZPA staff correspondent London New Zealand’s America’s Cup skipper, Chris Dickson, is considering an offer to race for the British in the next Cup challenge, according to the "Daily Mail.” Dickson, who skippered KZ7 during races at Fremantle earlier this year, was obtaining a British passport, the newspaper said, “and already he is considering joining Peter De Savary’s Blue Arrow challenge for the Cup and racing for Britain.” Dickson was sacked by'
Michael Fay, the merchant banker who headed the New Zealand challenge, after he lost to the America’s Cup winner, Dennis Conner, in the challengers’ final. “Th& youthful yachtsman, whose mother was born in Bournemouth, is known to be disgusted at his treatment by Michael Fay,” the “Daily Mall” said. Dickson told the newspaper “New Zealand will not win the next challenge, but I want to win the America’s Cup. That is my sole aim and I am prepared to change nationality to do it.
