Water polo champs
Otago scored four goals In the last seven minutes to beat Canterbury A, 8-7, on the second day of the New Zealand under-18 water polo championships at Queen Elizabeth II Park yesterday.
With the scores even near the end of the, game, Canterbury A missed an easy shot which was picked up by the Otago goalie who quickly turned defence into attack.
A throw to the Canterbury A goal found a waiting Otago player who scored the winning goal. . ~ Results.—From the day’s play were: Boys: Otago 9, Wellington 8; Southland 11, Counties; 8; Waikato 16, Canterbury B 3; Otago 8, Canterbury A 7; Auckland 18, Counties X 4; Wellington 8, Southland 8; Canterbury A 10, Canterbury B 2.
