Radio Otago in profit
PA Wellington Radio Otago, Ltd, yesterday reported a total froup net profit of 1,050,000 in the 16 months to March 31, and announced a one-for-two cash issue to be followed by a one-for-five bonus issue. The result includes an extraordinary profit of $602,000 (nil previously), and the company earned $238,000 in the previous
12 months. Revenue increased from $2,275,000 for the previous year to $3,959,000, and tax took $227,000 more at $416,000. A final dividend of 5c a ■* share, payable on July 14, gives 13c a share (52 per cent) for the 16 months compared with 6c a share last year. The cash issue of ordinary shares will be. at a premium of 125 c, making the total amount payable
150 c a share. The shares from the issue will be entitled to the interim dividend for the six months to September 30., The application date is June 29 with books closing on May 29. The bonus issue will also be entitled to the interim dividend for September 30. The issued capital of the company at March 31 was 1,177,325 25c ordinary shares.
