On stage despite wrist, fog
Pamela Stephenson, the New Zealand-born commedienne, made. it on to stage at the Christ-
church Town Hall last night, in spite of a
broken wrist and a fogbound plane. Fog at Auckland delayed the departure of Ms Stephenson and her crew yesterday for Christchurch. The crew, who were supposed to
have arrived in Christchurch at 9 a.m., were not able to start work on setting up for last even-
ing’s show until after 4 p.m.
Ms Stephenson arrived by plane about 5.30 p.m. The show began a little later than it should have last evening. Ms Stephenson’s broken wrist, injured in Christchurch on Friday
during filming for a television show, was checked by a surgeon in Christchurch yesterday.
Her promoter, Mr lan Magan, said the wrist
was a “good mend.” The entertainer’s show in' Auckland on Sunday was “triumphant.” Ms Stephenson said her wrist hurt a little at times but it was not a problem.
