Tottenham warned
NZPA-Reuter London The English Football League yesterday warned the F.A. Cup finalist, Tottenham, that fielding a reserve side at Everton today is “unacceptable.” Tottenham’s manager, David Pleat, could “rest” several star names before Saturday’s final at Wembley against Coventry City.
"We would have thought there is sufficient
scope within Tottenh\> s first-team resources, fielding a reserve team clearly would not be acceptable,” said a League spokesman, Andy Williamson. Spurs’ reserves are a point away from the Football Combination title and Mr Pleat admitted that today’s match against Everton could provide the chance of a reward for their efforts. He said he would think about it.
