Fire ruins farm house
Fire destroyed a house near Springfield yesterday afternoon.
Firemen from the Springfield, Sheffield and Darfield volunteer fire brigades fought the blaze, which was reported about 12.30 p.m.
The house was well ablaze when firemen arrived at the property, on the comer of Dalethorpe Road and Wyndale Road at Russells Flat, about 6km from Springfield.
The fire occurred on a small farm owned by Mrs J. B. Ferguson. The Springfield brigade’s chief fire officer, Mr Bob White, said Mrs Ferguson is overseas. The house was occupied by another woman. Mr White said the fire was not considered suspicious.
