Singapore aids rescue
NZPA-Reuter Singapore The Singapore Air Force has rescued 10 people and recovered the bodies of two others after an Indonesian light aircraft crashed into the sea near Singapore, the Government said yesterday. One person is missing after the Nomad plane carrying 13 people, crashed off the Tanjungpinang airfield, in northern Indonesia, on Tuesday. Singapore authorities dispatched a helicopter and a Skyvan aircraft to help Indonesian rescue boats searching for the victims.
Eight men, a woman and a boy were rescued and the bodies of two men recovered. The cause of the crash is not known.
