Application deferred
Plans for a restaurant and administration block to be built at Antrim Glen Motels in Riccarton Road have been deferred until the Riccarton Borough Council’s meeting on May 25. The council’s town planning committee reserved decision on whether to grant a building permit. Antrim Glen Motels has already twice applied for Consent to develop a new restaurant complex, but
on a much smaller scale. The owner, Mr Brian Mullaly, wants to build a restaurant with seating for 80 people. In addition the development would now comprise 56 accommodation units instead of the 52 considered previously by the council. The new restaurant and administration building would be set back from the comer of Riccarton Road and Mona Vale
Avenue. Mr Mullaly said he intended to surround the building with a “high standard of landscaping” and to ensure that the service area would be properly shielded. Some existing landscaping would have to be removed. / No objection to the application had been received.
