Escaper still sought
A Paparua Prison inmate who walked away from a working party mowing grass near the front gates of the prison last month is still sought by the police. Douglas James Aiderson, aged 19, made his escape on April 21. Police searched houses in the Darfield area a week later in a bid to find Alderson, who was serving a- 15-month sentence for burglary and car conversion. Alderson, who is not considered dangerous, is European, 175 cm (sft 9in) tall, of medium build with blue eyes and a pale complexion.
